Natalie Swaby joined King 5 in October 2010 as a morning reporter and fill-in anchor. She came to Seattle from KOAT in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was the investigative reporter and weekend morning anchor. Before that she worked at WMTV in Madison, Wisconsin as a consumer reporter. Her first job was right here in Washington state as a general assignment reporter at KEPR in Tri-Cities.
Before getting into broadcasting, Natalie grew up in Santa Rosa, CA working as a barista at her familes' business, Cafe des Croissants. From there she went to Arizona State University where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism.
In her career she was been awarded Reporter of the Year by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association. She also earned First Place from the New Mexico Associated Press for her news coverage of a county government oversight that put people's personal information at risk online.
When Natalie is not reporting, she is spending time with her husband and dog Madison. She enjoys hiking and cycling. She is always looking for new restaurants, so if you have any suggestions let her know. Also please send any story ideas you have to firstname.lastname@example.org.
