Early childhood education is important to many parents, but do you know how to communicate that to your local lawmakers?

The Children's Alliance of Washington has designed programs to teach parents, child advocates and anyone else who is interested in talking to lawmakers about funding early education programs.

At their advocacy camp, participats learn how to communicate a message to lawmakers in under two minutes and important points to make. They even stage a mock Legislative hearing. Organizers say these skills make a huge difference in the Legislative process.

Parents say that participating in these advocacy camps has given them a greater understanding to how to talk to lawmakers about issues that are important to them.

Jon Gould from the Children's Alliance talks about the role of Children's Alliance in Washington and how parents can make their voices heard with local representatives.
