Fifty-two years ago, the J.P. Patches show debuted in Seattle. It was one of the longest running children's TV shows in American history. To commemorate that great achievement, a bronze statue of the clown and his girlfriend Gertrude now stands in Fremont.

So what does it take to make a bronze statue of a clown and his girlfriend? Well, according to the artist, a lot!
