LONDON -- London's mayor says he wasn't the one who pulled the plug on Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney as they jammed in a live concert in Hyde Park Saturday night.
Just as they were wrapping up "Twist and Shout," the rock superstars' microphones were shut off because of a nighttime curfew.
So the mayor says, "If they'd have called me, my answer would have been for them to jam in the name of the Lord!"
E-Street Band bassist Steven Van Zandt tweeted out that English cops are the only ones on earth who wouldn't want to hear one more from Springsteen and McCartney.
