LONDON (AP) — A British newspaper claims leaked government documents show plans for the 2003 invasion of Iraq were drafted more than a year earlier — calling into question Tony Blair's public statements on the military buildup.

The Sunday Telegraph published details Sunday of a series of interviews with senior military figures undertaken by a government-commissioned inquiry seeking to learn lessons from the U.S.-led invasion.

One document disclosed that some planning for the war had begun in February 2002. In July 2002, Tony Blair told lawmakers no preparations were being made to invade.

The report also details chaotic planning for the invasion. One senior soldier claimed military officials mistakenly sent a container of skis along with desert equipment.
