More flight cancellations at Sea-Tac Tuesday

After a long day of delays at Sea-Tac International Airport Monday, Tuesday's freezing forecast brought another round of changes for travelers.

Alaska Airlines canceled roughly 35 flights from 6:00am until noon on Tuesday. The airline said in a release overnight that they were expecting wintry weather conditions to impact flight operations at Sea-Tac for a second day.

Planes were delayed Monday because the deicing process on the tarmac took longer than expected. Some passengers told KING 5 they sat on their plane for more than two hours.

Yesterday airport officials tweeted: "All working hard to keep travelers safe. We're responsible for [maintenance] of runways/taxiways, airlines responsible for de-icing aircraft."

Other airlines were also reporting delays and cancellations at Sea-Tac Tuesday morning. Conditions were expected to improve by noon. Passengers can check flight status here.
