A new KING 5 poll finds voters in Washington state split over Gov. Christine Gregoire's proposal to raise the state sales tax .5% for the next three years.
The governor says the tax would raise $494 million to reduce the impact of cuts to education and social services.
In a new KING 5 poll, 47% tell SurveyUSA they support the idea, while 47% say they do not. Six percent are not sure in the poll of 613 registered voters, with a margin of +/- 4%.
The poll was conducted between November 21 and November 23, 2011, and includes both users of landline and cell phones.
