If Republicans are going to gain the majority in the United State House of Representatives, one of the seats they will likely need to win is Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. The 3rd is an open seat vacated by Democrat Brian Baird after six terms. This year’s race pits Democrat Denny Heck against Republican Jaime Herrera. Heck has served in the state legislature, been the Chief of Staff for former Governor Booth Gardner, helped start TVW, the state government channel, and been part of a high tech start up, Real Networks. It’s a long resume, but will it been enough to defeat Herrera who has worked for Representative Cathy McMorris, has the endorsement of former Senator Slade Gorton, and is also embracing many of the Tea Party’s values.

Heck's plan for more jobs---raise taxes on businesses, raise taxes on the middle class and the rich, spend all net tax revenue on wasteful government entitlement programs and temporary government jobs. Pretend like the number of jobs created is astronomical and watch the economy continue sliding into the ditch. Yes he will just copy the page right out of the Obama/Pelosi playbook. A vote for Herrera will help stop the slide!

You have got to be kidding me ! ! ! Denny Heck would be a rubber stamp for Poloci and Reid. I think we have seen enough of these two and their closed door ram it down your throat deals, I say hooray for Harrera and the heck with Denny Heck. AND ! ! What Kind of comment is " embracing many of the Tea Party's values " ????? Exactly What Values Are You Talking About ????Are we forgetting that Denny Heck is embracing the ideas of the Democratic Governor that tax our groceries and bottled water, and pushing for a sales tax? Ask Denny Heck if he backs a sales tax and you too will say " Heck with Heck.

You say Heck is "very much a fan of the free market" but is also willing "to use government to create incentives for business" (paraphrased, don't recall your exact words). Problem is those things are mutually exclusive. The free market HAS NO government incentives for business. And it's exactly that kind of meddling that's given us the bad economy we have. Yes, jobs are the most important issue, which is why Herrera is the candidate: she recognizes the only way to create lasting jobs is to get out of the way of the people, not to try to get more involved. Look no further than the massive govt loan Ford just got, which takes that investment out of the private sector, which means fewer people can make money, fewer jobs created, and so on.

Heck is the candidate for this 3rd CD seat, as JOBS are the most important issue facing us here in the 3rd. Denny Heck is a business owner who has started and run several successful businesses and is an employer! Loosening credit to small businesses is a key plank of his platform. Green energy jobs that will put 3rd CD residents back to work, including building and shipping OUT, not in, wind mill blades and solar panels. These jobs should not be in China, they should be here in the 3rd CD. And his concern about curtailing health care cost inflation is very important. We need to give Congress HECK!
