Apple producing 2 million iPads per month, say reports

SEATTLE – The iPad is now in such high demand, Apple has reportedly ramped up production to churn out 2 million units per month.

Technology blogs are also reporting that the increase in production means a decrease in wait times for delivery, from as much as 10 days to as little as 24 hours. Most orders for the iPhone4 still require a three week waiting period.

Katy Huberty at Morgan Stanley is quoted as saying Apple is hoping to bump it up to 3 million iPads per month in the fourth quarter.

The increase comes as several Android-powered tablets are set to hit the market.

They wouldn't be ramping up production if there wasn't demand. I probably won't buy one but I'm happy with my Apple Stock!

im with collegeguy, how about make it affordable now that everyone has blown 500 on it. I would buy one if it didnt cost so much and i dont even like apples.

Thats approximately 1.98 million a month that will sit collecting dust on a shelf because only a few have money to spend on a frivolous item like this.
