SEATTLE – An assassination plot is something Obama's family expected would happen at some point during the campaign, according to Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama's brother who was in Seattle to speak at a Democratic event.

As head basketball coach at Oregon State University, Craig Robinson is used to giving media interviews. But these days the questions are all about Obama and the sister who may become First Lady.

These days, he's better known as Michelle Obama's big brother who was thrust into the spotlight after introducing his sister at the Democratic National Convention.

"I owe Barack and Michelle a debt of gratitude," he said.

He has been a big part of the campaign, filling in at rallies and pushing Obama's message as one of his biggest supporters. He said it's been a whirlwind.

"Before he was running for the presidency, I vetted him as a brother in law. The guy's honest, he's got great integrity, great character, a great sense of humor," he said.

Robinson says the one thing the public might not know about Obama: "He's a big jazz fan. I've never listened to his iPod, but I know it's got a lot of jazz on it."

Growing up on the south side of Chicago in a working-class family, it's hard for Robinson to imagine that he might soon be known as the brother of a First Lady.

"I'm a coach, I'm very superstitious. Until he wins, I'm not even going to try and think about it. I'm going to try and keep my head down, get people out to vote," he said.

And that's Robinson's primary focus in the final days of the campaign – to continue pushing the message to get out and vote in this historic election.
