Seattle Aquarium volunteers worked with the City of Burien and the Environmental Science Center to rescue sea creatures the north portion of the seawall at Seahurst Park is removed.

"The Aquarium team will be relocating as many intertidal creatures as they can," said Janice Mathisen, Beach Naturalist Coordinator.

Some of the creatures that live in the area include crabs, anemones, sea stars and snails.

The long-term goals of the Seahurst project are to restore the beach to benefit endangered salmon and forage fish. Upland portions of the park will also be renovated.
