VW to produce 261 mpg car

Volkswagen announced Feb. 21, 2013, that it will begin production on the XL1, which the company says will get 261 miles per gallon of diesel. It has a 47-hp two-cylinder TDI engine, a 27-hp electric motor, a seven-speed automatic transmission and a lithium-ion battery.
