The germiest spots in your kitchen may be where you least expect them.
A new study by the health and safety organization NFS International tested samples from 20 home kitchens and found surprising places that may contain enough foodborne pathogens to make you sick.
The refrigerator water dispenser topped the list as the germiest place in the kitchens, which also included blenders, rubber spatulas and can openers — which were found tainted by traces of E. coli, salmonella and listeria.
The vegetable and meats drawers in the fridge, the fridge’s ice dispenser, food containers with rubber seals and knife blocks made the list too.
