U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle attended the two official inaugural balls, the Commander-in-Chief ball for members of the military and the Inaugural Ball, which was open to the public.
The two official balls were the fewest in 60 years, as Obama heads a country in the midst of a recession. Both balls were held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
Michelle Obama's gown for the evening was made by Jason Wu, who also made her gown in 2009.
Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill also attended the balls.
The featured performers included Jennifer Hudson, who sang the Obama's first dance song: Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," Jamie Foxx who performed for the Biden's dance, the band fun., singer Stevie Wonder, and many more.
