Bird and Jackson meet at Olympics again

Seattle Storm teammates Sue Bird (USA) and Lauren Jackson (Australia) met for the third straight Olympics on August 9, but unlike in 2004 and 2008, it was not for the gold medal. Australia didn’t win its group in preliminary play and ended up on the same side of the tournament bracket as the Americans. But the outcome was the same – the U.S. won, 86-73. Team USA would win the gold medal two days later while Jackson and Australia got bronze.
