Huskies bring home 7 Olympic rowing medals

People around Western Washington already knew the University of Washington had a stellar rowing program. The rest of the world found out at the Olympics, too. Twelve current and former Huskies representing three countries competed in London. Seven came back with medals, including Women’s Eight coxswain Mary Whipple (seen here in the tradition of being tossed into the water by her teammates). It was Whipple’s second and last gold medal as she headed off to retirement.
