After a decade in Seattle that saw him break all kinds of Major League records, Ichiro Suzuki was traded from the Seattle Mariners to the New York Yankees on July 23. In a bizarre scheduling quirk, Ichiro's first game in a Yankee uniform came against the Mariners at Safeco Field.
