Excavators equipped with jackhammers worked side-by-side to break up the concrete footings of the old Evergreen Point Road overpass. The 50-year-old overpass was demolished during a full closure of the SR 520 floating bridge and highway March 9-12, 2012. A new, wider lidded overpass will have a park and ride and provide access to a transit stop in the median of SR 520.
