NEW ORLEANS -- NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas said at least 17 people were shot at a Mother's Day second-line parade in the 7th Ward.

The youngest victim was 10 years old.

Police believe three suspects were involved.

One of the suspects is "a dark skinned male, 18 to 24 years old, short hair wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts," Serpas said.

“We can tell you without doubt that this police department will find these guys," Serpas said. "We will find them, and we will bring them to custody and will make them pay for the crime they committed today.”

Police say there were 200 people at the corner where shots rang out, and 300 to 400 people at the second line.
