NEW YORK - An Issaquah couple found themselves at New York City's Ground Zero on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Jeremiah Case was set to travel to New York for a meeting on September 12.

His wife, Elizabeth, is self-employed and decided to travel with him and work from the hotel.

As their trip got closer, they realized it coincided with the anniversary ceremonies and they would be staying right at Ground Zero.

Saturday night Elizabeth tweeted "Curious how this is all going to work tomorrow - it's really weird to be across the street from Ground Zero - not something I ever thought I'd do."

KING 5 reached out to her, and Sunday morning she sent this email about the somber mood at the site.

"Ground Zero is right next to our hotel. It was weird to walk by it last night, most of [it] covered up, this morning's events are just for the families at the memorial site... since we don't know anyone directly who died on 9/11, our connection to all of this is that we're Americans. So we've decided to get out of the way of those who need to be here to grieve, remember and celebrate their family members."
