WASHINGTON (AP) — In one area at least, Supreme Court justices look a lot like the rest of America.

Members of court have firsthand experience with divorce and adoption, as well as just being single.

The justices' varied family portraits could affect the way they view the gay marriage cases that will be argued later this month. Opponents of same-sex marriage stress the unique ability of heterosexual couples to have babies as a reason to uphold gay marriage bans.
