SEATTLE - Progressive versus progressive. That's one way to describe the race to replace longtime Seattle Congressman Jim McDermott, retiring at the end of his term.
The 7th Congressional District that he's held for nearly 30 years encompasses much of Seattle, as well as Edmonds, Vashon Island, and Burien.
The candidates in the competitive open seat race are State Senator Pramila Jayapal and State Representative Brady Pinero Walkinshaw, both progressive Democrats.
