OLYMPIA, Wash --State officials say new numbers showing that the state reportedly gained more than 24,000 jobs may be too high to be accurate.

Economists with the state Employment Security Department said Wednesday that it's been more than 17 years since the state saw that much job growth and that the numbers are likely to be revised.

The report said an estimated 261,000 people in Washington were unemployed and  looking for work in January, the numbers include the 151,000 who claimed unemployment benefits.

The report was released Wednesday and it  showed the state's unemployment rate remains unchanged at 7.5 percent.
