SPOKANE -- The campaign aide for Mitt Romney heard cussing out reporters grew up in the Spokane area.
His name is Rick Gorka.
The website “Politico” posted Gorka’s bio, which includes his previous job working on Capitol Hill as a Staff Assistant for Rep. George Nethercutt (R-WA). “Politico” also states Gorka is a native of Spokane and a graduate of UNLV. A classmate said he attended Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley.
Romney told Jewish donors their culture is what makes them better off economically than Palestinians.
Reporters tried to get Romney to answer questions about that statement after a visit to Poland’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, but Gorka wasn’t having any of it.
Gorka, Romney’s traveling press secretary, told reporters “Kiss my $#^@%, this is a holy site for Polish people. Show some respect.” The reporters were calling out Romney over press access.
Gorka’s gaffe headlined Romney’s trip to Poland Tuesday.
CBS reports Gorka later called two of the reporters to apologize.
