Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna got a boost Thursday from one of the GOP's rising stars -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Christie was the featured speaker at a rally in Bellevue Thursday afternoon, and he's scheduled to headline a fundraiser later in the evening.
The New Jersey governor, elected in 2009, is mentioned as a possible vice presidential pick for GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
McKenna is in a tight race against former congressman Jay Inslee (D).
