KING 5's Mark Wright sat down with Seattle author Jen Marlowe to talk about Gov. Jay Inslee's decision to suspend the death penalty as long as he's in office.
Marlowe is the author of "I Am Troy Davis" about a Georgia man executed for killing a police officer. Many have since doubted that Davis was the killer.
Marlowe says there's a nationwide trend towards suspending the death penalty. She also says putting someone to death has traumatic effects on family, friends and even prison staff.
