Volunteers with Washington State Animal Response Team on Wednesday rescued a dog that had been trapped in logging slash near Acme for four days.
After neighbors in an Acme neighborhood heard a dog barking from a steep ravine area up on a logging road, they called the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.
The call went out to WASART volunteers to help find the dog.
With the help of neighbors and volunteers, the WASART personnel were able to harness and carry out the dog.
The very hungry and thirsty pup was glad to see all the humans.
Using information from posted missing dog flyers, the dog was reunited with its family.
