Artist Richard Jackson's sculpture "Bad Dog" at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, Calif. is turning heads.
The 28-foot-high puppy has his leg lifted and is "establishing his territory" on the side of the museum. The sculpture is rigged to spray yellow paint on the side of the building.
While most people appreciate the whimsy of the sculpture, one commenter on Facebook wished Jackson had "neutered" it.
The sculpture is part of the "Richard Jackson: Ain’t Painting a Pain" exhibition, the first retrospective devoted to the 74-year-old artist.
The exhibition is a series of 11 room-scale installations from 1970 to 2011, most never before shown in the United States, accompanied by over 150 of Jackson’s related preparatory drawings, works on paper, and models.
"Bad Dog" was created especially for the exhibit.
