In the fire that destroyed a Bellevue apartment building Tuesday morning, Ellie the cat probably used up more than a few of her lives.

She was caught in her owner's bedroom when the fire broke out, hiding under what was left of the bed until firefighters rescued her from the debris six hours later.

Her owner, Cassie Howard, lost everything in the fire.

"The only thing I really care about is my cat," Howard told KING 5. "I don't care about my stuff at all, I just want my cat."

Ellie has been at the vet since the fire. She is recovering at the Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland and suffered from burns and respiratory issues. She may need even skin grafts.

Howard had renter's insurance but it does not include veterinary bills. A fundraiser has been started to help pay for Ellie's vet bills and some people are donating to the veterinarian directly. Anyone interested in more information can go to here.
