NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a New York City subway car became a scene of bloody terror when a man whipped out a knife and fatally stabbed a fellow passenger.

Police say two men in their mid-30s had gotten into an argument aboard a "D'' train in midtown Manhattan at about 2 a.m. Saturday. One man pulled a knife and repeatedly stabbed the other in the neck and face.

A train conductor alerted authorities to the fight and police officers were waiting on the platform when the train pulled into the station at West 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue.

Police say the suspect is a 37-year-old Bronx man who was standing over the bloodied victim when the doors opened. He has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
