Watch: Ore. beachgoers scramble to escape sneaker wave

One minute, people were enjoying a walk on the beach, the next minute they were running for their lives. Video by Steve Raplee.

Videos and photos showed last weekend's "sneaker waves" on the Washington coast and now we've got video of people scrambling to escape a huge sneaker on the Oregon Coast.

Steve Raplee is owner and chef at the High Tide Café in Charleston, near Coos Bay.

Raplee said he took a short break from cooking and decided to film the waves just up the street from the restaurant.

His video shows people out enjoying a nice walk on the beach. A boy is seen headed toward the water, walking a small dog.

Suddenly, the water starts moving in.

"Uh oh, time to go here," says Raplee.

The camera keeps rolling as Raplee begins running away from the water.

"Get out of the way!" he shouts. The dog is heard barking as the water rushes in.

"My God, that's huge. I just got out of the way. It would have taken anybody in its path."

Raplee said everybody was able to get out of the way.
