US 2 north of Wenatchee could be closed for weeks

US 2 still remains closed in both directions in Douglas County near Waterville due to a large rock slide that occurred on Sunday. The Department of Transportation said Tuesday the estimated time of reopening is "days, if not weeks, away."

The Washington State Patrol reported that the slide was about 50 feet deep and 100 feet long.

No injuries were reported and no vehicles were involved.

The road is closed from milepost 140, just east of Orondo, to milepost 149 just west of Waterville.

Waterville is northeast of Wenatchee.
