Suspected Cascade Mall shooter hid out in Seattle after shooting

KING 5's Elisa Hahn reports.

MOUNT VERNON - The suspected Cascade Mall shooter, Arcan Cetin, hid out in Seattle after the shooting, according to newly released documents from the Skagit County Sheriff's Office.

KING 5 obtained the incidents reports on Friday as part of a public disclosure records request.

The twenty-year-old told detectives after his arrest, that he stayed in a parking lot in Seattle after the shooting, where he also got a parking ticket.

Detectives said a trap/trace "ping" on his cell phone showed he was near Pike Place Market at 1:30 p.m. Saturday after the shooting.

He was arriving home almost 24 hours after the shooting when he was arrested by Oak Harbor police.

Cetin admitted to detectives he entered the mall at Chucky Cheese, carried out the shooting inside Macy's and left his gun behind in the store.

He did not give a reason for the shooting despite several efforts by detectives to find out why he might have done it.

One incident report read, "During the interview, he would deny somethings when it didn't occur and agree to something when it did. He however would come up with a standard answer of "I can't answer that" when he didn't want to provide details."

The detective wrote he showed very little emotion, even smirking at times during questioning.

The questioning after his arrest went on for almost an hour and a half until Cetin started to fall asleep.
