SEATTLE -- Four people were killed and 12 were in critical condition after a charter bus, a Ride the Ducks tour vehicle, and two smaller vehicles collided on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle Thursday morning.
Witness Jesse Christenson says he was about 150 to 200 yards behind the Ride the Ducks vehicle.
"The Duck boat was signaling to enter the left lane. As it was making its turn to enter the left lane, it seemed to lurch suddenly. I saw a bunch of smoke and what appeared to be the front, left wheel pop off. [The Duck boat] clipped a smaller SUV and basically almost t-boned into the oncoming bus and spun around," Christenson said.
According to Christenson, the charter bus was heading south on the Aurora Bridge as the Ride the Ducks vehicle was heading north.
Christenson said he was in shock after he witnessed the crash.
"I stopped the car, put it in park and somebody ran up from behind me and yelled at me to call 911. So, I did that," Christenson said.
Christenson said a flood of people went up to the scene to see if they could help.
"It was just extremely traumatizing for everyone involved, it seemed," Christenson said.
