Powerful new documentary explores transgender viewpoints

Two powerful new films about LGBTQ identity make their Seattle debut. Director Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and transgender activist Bamby Salcedo join us.

SEATTLE, WASH. - As part of the 4th annual fall documentary screening series, HBO Documentary Films and the Seattle International Film Festival are showing two new films about LGBTQ identity.  The new documentary The Trans List is a powerful film that explores what it's like to identify as transgender, through the eyes of eleven prominent transgender figures.  Director Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and transgender activist and film subject Bamby Salcedo give us a first look at their film.

HBO Documentary Films, SIFF, and Twist present the Seattle premieres of The Trans List and Mariela Castro's March - which follows the crusade of Raul Castro's daughter to establish equal rights to LGBT Cubans - tonight at 7pm at SIFF Cinema Uptown.  The screenings will be followed by a filmmaker discussion.  Admission is free but advanced registration is required HERE.

Mariela Castro's March: Cuba's LGBT Revolution will premiere on HBO and HBO NOW on November 28.

The Trans List will premiere on HBO and HBO NOW on December 5.
