GRAHAM, Wash. –  A small airplane has crashed in a field near Kapowsin Field in Graham, Wash. this afternoon, killing one person and injuring another.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says neighbors reported seeing it do a barrel roll before going down in the area of 260th Street East and 150th Avenue East.

Sheriff's spokesman Det. Ed Troyer says one person is dead and another was airlfted.

Video from SkyKING shows the single-engine plane nose down in the field. Several sheriff's deputies and firefighters are investigating the scene.

thanks for that clever insight washingtonian, you must be that 1 percent that can describe a barrel-roll. when you're done investigating this crash for FAA based off the information you've collected off of KING5 and kiro, why don't you go help those paramedics that have to pull his mutilated body out of that "aluminum" coffin. my heart goes out to the family.

It's called aluminum @vandamme :) Kiro say's the plane is a Zenith 605, which I doubt because it's probably a Zenith 601. I also am dubious about the eye witness "barrel-roll" description, 99 out of a 100 people wouldn't even know how to describe a barrel roll. Supposedly this happened in a hard right turn just after takeoff, so points towards a wing-high stall I would guess, also if you look at the pics he clearly was rolling straight for sometime after touchdown (look at the flattened grass) and it looks at those the gear hit something and he flipped. Poor guy.
