Firefighters rescue deer stuck in fence

Valley Regional Fire Authority was called to an unusual task Tuesday.

Firefighters rescued a deer, whose right leg was stuck at the top of a chain link fence outside an Auburn home. Crews cut a piece of the fence to free the deer, which had been struggling to remove its leg.

Crews wrote in a Facebook post that the deer appeared exhausted, but didn’t have any injuries.

“Your firefighters get to help with many different types of emergencies and we are proud to serve our community 24/7/365,” the firefighter’s union wrote.
