Lewis County loses power after transformer malfunction

Lewis County lost power Wednesday morning after a transformer malfunction. The power was out for nearly two hours before being restored just after 7 a.m.

A Bonneville Power Administration spokesman says BPA took a transfomer out of service for maintenance. But the backup power system went down, causing the outage.

The county urged residents to not call 911 to report the outage, but rather keep that line open for emergencies.

Several school districts in Lewis County closed for the day as a result if the outages. You can check current school statuses here.
