Deputies investigating Port Orchard homicide

A Kitsap County sheriff's spokesman says his agency is investigating a woman's death in her Port Orchard apartment.

A spokesman with the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said the agency is investigating the death of a woman found in her Port Orchard apartment as a homicide.

A family member discovered the woman dead in her 30s in the South Park Greens apartments in the 4000 block of Madrona Drive. Deputies arrived on the scene just after 3:30 p.m.

"We do not believe this is a random assault," said Deputy Scott Wilson. "We believe this person was targeted by a yet-to-be determined other person."

Wilson said detectives are also investigating graphic photos purportedly showing the body and posted anonymously on an image-sharing website. Some of those photos were tweeted to KING 5 and several other news agencies.

"Any time we have images of this graphic nature that are posted online and perpetrate to be this crime scene we are going to take those seriously, but we're unable to confirm whether those photographs are of this victim," he said.

One of the social media posts reportedly said "check the news for orchard WA in a few hours - her son will be home from school soon, and will find her and call the cops."...

Officers were searching for the victim's car, a 2001 gold four-door Ford Focus, Washington license 495-YLY. Wilson said the two rear wheels were temporary, emergency spares.

Sheriff's investigators were asking anyone with information to contact Kitsap County Sheriff's Office via 9-1-1 or call 360-308-5400.
