Former classmate: Mukilteo shooting suspect "quiet and smart"

Police have not named the suspect but did say the alleged shooter was arrested this morning in Lewis County.

Police have not named the suspect but did say the alleged shooter was apprehended early Saturday morning in Lewis County and was returned to Snohomish County.

Booking records shows that 19-year-old Allen Christopher Ivanov was booked into the county jail early this afternoon. KING 5 News spoke with former classmates of Ivanov's who identified him as the alleged shooter.

He has been booked on two counts of murder in the first degree and one count of aggravated murder.

“I went to elementary school and high school with this guy. It’s too much you know,” said Saoirse West, who said the alleged suspect, Ivanov was in her 2015 class at Kamiak High School.

It was hard for to believe what happened Saturday Night.

“It’s just shocking,” West said. “I woke up this morning and I saw three dead one injured on my Facebook.”

The victims were all friends and classmates of hers from Kamiak High School in Mukilteo.

She said Ivanov is quiet and smart. He is a student at the University of Washington and a software engineer that helped develop a laser tag gaming system.

A manager at the Apple Store in Alderwood confirmed that he is employed there and works at the Genius Bar.

Those who knew him want to know what was going through his mind the last couple of days like when he sent a tweet that read, “First and Last tweet. I’ve been through it all.”

And then an Instagram picture taken days ago with a photo with a rifle with three bullets.
