Check into Disney's 'Tower of Terror' before it closes

ANAHEIM, Cal. - There are only a few months left to check into the Tower of Terror before the attraction closes for good.

The popular ride themed after the Twilight Zone will permanently close at Disneyland's California Resort on January 2nd, 2017, the park announced on their blog.

Beginning September 9th, the Tower will offer a "Late Check-Out," where guests can ride the Tower in complete darkness, if they dare. The lights will come back on in November.

The Tower will be replaced by 'Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!' modeled after the highly successful Marvel film. President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige announced the addition to the Disneyland Resort at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

The new ride is expected to open the summer of 2017.
