Parts of Whatcom County woke up to snow Monday morning, with at least one report of up to five inches of snow. Several school districts reported late starts or closures.
Lowland snow is unlikely from Seattle and most of King County southward, including Hood Canal. Those areas are expected to get rain showers through Monday night.
Snow showers in the mountains are expected to decrease Monday with 1-to-4 inches of new snow. But drivers should remain ready for slow and difficult travel condition through the passes.
Things are expected to dry out Monday night and Tuesday with cold sunshine in the forecast through at least Thursday. High temperatures through the week will be in the 30s. Jackets and sunglasses will be your best friend!
