GEORGE, Wash. – The body of a missing King County firefighter was recovered in western Grant County on Saturday.
Ken Ward had been missing since last weekend and was the subject of a statewide search.
A man scouting for deer found the body around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ward’s body was found near the Wild Horse Monument along Interstate 90 about nine miles west of George.
Firefighter Ward was a short distance from his vehicle which was parked near the monument.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. Officials said there is no indication of foul play.
