Parallel parking job ends with car wedged underneath another

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man trying to parallel park his car in downtown Bellingham Wednesday morning stepped on the wrong pedal and ended up driving it underneath another vehicle.

The 62-year-old man was pulling out his blue Chevrolet Cavalier into a space along Cornwell Avenue outside the public market, reports the Bellingham Herald. He was trying to make sure there was enough space between cars but accidentally hit the gas, wedging his car underneath a Subaru Forester parked in front of him.

The driver wasn’t hurt, but his car’s windshield got smashed.

It took two tow trucks to lift the Forester so a crew could pull the Cavalier out from underneath.

The Subaru’s owner was elsewhere when the crash happened; he declined to comment.
