YELM, Wash. - A Yelm soldier thrilled his young daughters with an early homecoming.
Corey Houston first surprised his youngest daughter, Samantha, outside of Prairie Elementary on Wednesday morning.
Next stop was the school cafeteria where Houston's other daughters, Brooklyn and Haylie, got to wrap their arms around their dad, who has been away for more than nine months.
Houston said, "I've been away from these two about 36 months in the last five years. So between Iraq, Cuba, and now Afghanistan I hope I get to stay home for awhile."
Houston has been in the United States for a few weeks helping his sister who home was destroyed by fire in Maryland.
His daughters did not expect him home for a few more days.
