Victim and suspect both hospitalized after Monroe stabbing

The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team is investigating an assault that left two people injured in Monroe on Friday night. 

Police say the incident began at about 7 p.m. when a 32-year-old man was spotted in the alley near the 100 block of W. Hill St. wielding a knife. 

Officers learned that the man was alleged to have stabbed a 34-year-old woman multiple times near the 100 block of N. Lewis St. 

Officers attempted to negotiate with the man,and followed him down Blakely St. 

Officers then approached the suspect and used a taser to subdue him. Police say the man was wounded in the process of being taken into custody.

Both the stabbing victim and the suspect were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
