OLYMPIA, Wash. Volunteers are holding a candlelight vigil for Lindsey Baum Saturday night at Olympia's Heritage Park.

The ten-year-old was last seen walking home from a friend's house in McCleary last June.

Police has asked the public for help, but no one has come forward with anything that might lead them to her.

The vigil begins at 6 p.m. Organizers expect it to last one hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles.

Out thoughts and prayers for the safe return of this child. "Transients" with a pedophile or rape past SHOULD NOT be out roming our streets. Absurd to think they won't re-offend.

Not sure, masterblaster. I guess I just assumed abduction because of her age...I didn't think it was very likely that a little 10 year old girl ran away and is somehow living on her own somewhere.

I've been disengaged for a while. Is there a story about this being an abduction?

Thanks getrealppl, I am the proud father of 2 girls and I couldn't imagine what her parents or any parents of these missing children go through. I don't understand how our 'govnah ' can sleep at night knowing full well that these predators refuse treatment while in prison, then when they are released can register as 'transient' and go on about their sordid business. Something has to be done to protect our most precious resource, our kids. GOD she ( govnah ) makes me mad!!!!

Agreed, acftmac. Chances are, the person who took this little girl is probably a repeat offender. Hopefully, someday soon, those in positions of power will open their eyes and see that maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't let these sickos out the first time they offend.

Just when the heck is our govnah going to crack down on these child predators??? How many more missing children do we have to see to get a clue? This darn state cares more about whales and tress than our kids. Get a clue gregoire, stop coddling criminals!!!
