(Update: The boil order in Port Townsend was lifted Tuesday, Dec. 15).
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Water main breaks in three Western Washington communities has prompted the state to warn residents to boil their tap water.
The problems affect the cities Port Townsend and Kalama and the Forest Grove Mobile Home Park in Snohomish County.
About 15,000 people are affected.
State health officials say residents should use bottled water, or boil their tap water until the problem is fixed and the water is safe to drink again.
Tap water should be boiled for one minute and allowed to cool before use.
