SEATTLE -- The Washington State Patrol wants to piece together a multi-car crash on Interstate 90 last week that ultimately lead to the death of a 9-year-old girl.

The crash last Wednesday morning on I-90 appeared to have started with a logging truck that plowed into the morning congestion. Some witnesses said it looked like the truck was unable to stop.

The crash critically injured Rachel Beckwith, 9, when the car she was riding in was smashed into. Her mother, who was driving the car, received a minor head injury, and a younger sibling was not injured.

Beckwith was taken off life support over the weekend. Her passion for clean drinking water in emerging countries was made public Friday night, and since then the charity of her choice, Charity: Water has raised over $200,000 in her honor.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call either WSP Detective Greg Wilcoxson at 360-805-1195 or WSP Detective Jeff Maijala at 425-401-7742.
