Washington State Patrol said a fatal collision on I-90 could have been caused by a cooler in the middle of the highway.

The collision happened on I-90 near SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway near Snoqualmie.

According to WSP Trooper Chris Webb, a vehicle swerved to avoid a cooler in the middle of the road and sideswiped another car, causing both to stop at the median. "May have involved a boat losing a cooler (debris)," Webb tweeted.

CPR was performed at the scene before the driver of the second car was transported to Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah. That driver later died at the hospital.

Webb tweeted the driver of the vehicle submitted to a voluntary blood draw, though DUI is not suspected.

More to follow.
